Knox Boxes help us quickly access homes when responding to an emergency situation. Every second counts and having keys available helps reduce delays in beginning emergency care. In addition, it allows rapid entry without causing unnecessary forcible entry damage to doors or windows. The Manteno Community Fire Protection District has a Residential Knox Box Program that allow residents the ability to have boxes on their homes for this purpose.
We also have a Commercial Know Box Program for access to businesses in need of emergent action from us when they are not on the premises.
We will visit your neighborhood block party to provide an educational presentation to both parents and children. Families are welcome to tour the vehicles after the presentation, as time allows.
The firefighters are considered “in-service” during the block party and may need to leave at a moment’s notice if dispatched to an emergency call.
